Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
