Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 You will surely end up seeing Hell; 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
