The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
