Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book,- 2 a guide and a mercy for those who do good, 3 Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
