Alshu'araa' 6 of 11
The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 When their fellowman Nooh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 106 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 107 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 108 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 109 So fear Allah and obey me." 110 ۞ They replied: 'Are we to believe you whom the lowliest follow' 111 He said: 'I have no knowledge of what they have done. 112 It is only for my Lord to take account of them. Would that you made use of your understanding! 113 And I am not to drive away the believers. 114 "I am sent only to warn plainly in public." 115 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Noah, thou shalt assuredly be one of the stoned.' 116 Then Noah said, "Lord, my people have rejected me. 117 So open between me and them an opening, and save me and the believers who are with me' 118 So We delivered him and those with him in the loaded ark, 119 Then after it, We drowned the rest. 120 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 121 And lo, thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 122
