[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
