Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
