The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
