The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Comes not unto them an admonition (a chapter of the Quran) from their Lord as a recent revelation but they listen to it while they play, 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 He says: 'My Lord knows what is said in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.' 4 Yet they say: "These are only confused dreams," or rather: "He has invented them;" or: "He is only a poet. Let him therefore bring a miracle to us as the earlier (apostles) were sent with." 5 (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? 6 The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- 7 We did not endow the Messengers with bodies that would need no food; nor were they immortals. 8 Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
