And assuredly We have created man and We know whatsoever his soul whispereth unto him, and We are nigher unto him than his jugular vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the Trumpet will be blown, that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
