The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
