Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
