The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
