The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
