The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And raised couches; 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
