Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
