Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 But my call has only made them flee the more: 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I told them: 'Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving. 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 And Allah hath made the earth unto you an expanse. 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
