Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
