Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 noble scribes 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
