The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 on a fateful Day. 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
