Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
