And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire. 27 shall We treat those who believe and do good works the same as those who spread corruption in the land; shall We treat the pious the same as the wicked? 28 (It is) a Book We have revealed to you abounding in good that they may ponder over its verses, and that those endowed with understanding may be mindful. 29 We granted Solomon to David, a blessed servant of Ours and certainly the most repentant person. 30 When there were shown to him at eventide lightfooted coursers 31 he said, 'Lo, I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord, until the sun was bidden behind the veil. 32 "Bring them back to me." then began he to pass his hand over (their) legs and their necks. 33 And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): 34 He said: 'Forgive me my Lord, and give me a kingdom the like of which will not befall any after me, surely, You are the Giver' 35 So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed, 36 And the unruly, every builder and diver (made We subservient), 37 And others fettered in chains. 38 This is Our free gift, therefore give freely or withhold, without reckoning. 39 He has a high position with Us and an excellent abode. 40
