Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In an elevated garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
