The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 and erect huge palaces as though you will live for ever, 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 Have fear of God and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 And gardens and springs. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
