AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 He abandoned his people 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 So you and your deities 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
