Seest thou not that We have set the Evil Ones on against the unbelievers, to incite them with fury? 83 (Muhammad), exercise patience; We have given them respite only for an appointed time. 84 On the day that We shall muster the godfearing to the All-merciful with pomp 85 And We will drive the guilty to hell thirsty 86 no one will be able to intercede for the others except those whom the Beneficent God has given authority. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 You have indeed advanced something hideous! 89 The heavens are close to being torn apart by it, and the earth being split asunder, and the mountains succumbing and falling down. 90 For they have attributed a son to Ar-Rahman, 91 And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son. 92 None is there in the heavens and earth but he comes to the All-merciful as a servant; 93 indeed, He has full cognizance of them, and has numbered them with [unfailing] numbering; 94 And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender). 95 Indeed, the Most Compassionate Lord will soon create enduring love for those who believe and do righteous works. 96 and only to this end have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own tongue, [O Prophet,] so that thou might convey thereby a glad tiding to the God-conscious, and warn thereby those who are given to [futile] contention: 97 And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Canst thou (Muhammad) see a single man of them, or hear from them the slightest sound? 98
