Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
