Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
