The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
