The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
