The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
