The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
