And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
