The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
