O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.)], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. 56 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 who give what they give, with their hearts quaking, that they will return to their Lord: 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 Or they say, “He is afflicted by a demon”; in fact he brought the Truth to them, and most of them dislike the Truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 We struck them with torment, but they did not submit themselves to their Lord, nor did they make themselves humble 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
