The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
