He it is Who sendeth down water from the sky, whence ye have drink, and whence are trees on which ye send your beasts to pasture. 10 He causes to grow for you thereby herbage, and the olives, and the palm trees, and the grapes, and of all the fruits; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who reflect. 11 He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command. Surely in this there are signs for men of understanding. 12 And other things of different shades has He produced on the earth for you. In this are signs for those who reflect. 13 It is He Who has made the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah and that ye may be grateful. 14 And He has placed firm mountains on the earth lest it should move away from you, and has made rivers and tracks that you may find your way, 15 as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. 16 So, could one who creates be like one who cannot? Will you not then contemplate? 17 And if you would count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
