The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
