A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 We have placed in it gardens of date palms and vines, and caused springs to gush [forth] from it, 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Holy is He Who created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know. 36 They have a sign in the night: We withdraw from it the [light of] day -- and they are left in darkness. 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 And the moon! For it We have decreed mansions till it reverteth like the old branch of a palm-tree. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 and then created for them other vessels like those on which they ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 And when it is said to them: "Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's Religion Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds). 45 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
