The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
