The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher; 4 And what can make you know what is the Crusher? 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
