Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
