1/2 Hizb 35
< random >
Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord 57 And those who believe in the communications of their Lord, 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 And those who give whatsoever they give, while their hearts are anxious that unto their Lord they are to be returners. 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Have they, then, never tried to understand this word [of God]? Or has there [now] come to them something that never came to their forefathers of old? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy. 75 We struck them with torment, but they did not submit themselves to their Lord, nor did they make themselves humble 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
