The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
