They will question thee concerning the Spirit. Say: 'The Spirit is of the bidding of my Lord. You have been given of knowledge nothing except a little.' 85 Had We willed, We could take away what We have revealed to you, then you would find none to help you in recovering it from Us. 86 Except [We have left it with you] as a mercy from your Lord. Indeed, His favor upon you has ever been great. 87 Say: Verily, though mankind and the jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another. 88 And verily We have displayed for mankind in this Qur'an all kind of similitudes, but most of mankind refuse aught save disbelief. 89 They say: "We shall not believe in thee, until thou cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth, 90 “Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and you make gushing rivers to flow in it.” 91 "Or you cause the heaven to fall upon us in pieces, as you have pretended, or you bring Allah and the angels before (us) face to face; 92 Or you have a house of gold or you ascend into the sky. And [even then], we will not believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a book we may read." Say, "Exalted is my Lord! Was I ever but a human messenger?" 93
