Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the snorting, panting horses, 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 Then, therewith, with their trail of dust, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when the contents of the graves are brought out and poured forth (all mankind is resurrected). 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
