The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful 1

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. 2 The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful 3 The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) 4 Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. 5 (Lord), guide us to the right path, 6 The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray. 7

True are the words of God the Almighty.
