The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful 1

Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, 2 the Merciful, the Most Merciful, 3 the Master of the Day of Doom. 4 Thee only we serve; to Thee alone we pray for succour. 5 Guide us to the straight path: 6 The path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray. 7

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
