The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful 1

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. 2 The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, 3 Owner of the Day of Recompense 4 You (alone) we worship; and You (alone) we rely for help. 5 Guide us Thou unto the path straight 6 The path of those whom Thou hast favoured. Not of those on whom is indignation brought down, nor of the astray. 7

True are the words of God the Almighty.
