Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Who hath created the heavens and the earth, and hath appointed darkness and light. Yet those who disbelieve ascribe rivals unto their Lord. 1 He it is Who has created you out of clay, and then decreed a term (of life), and has also appointed another term, a term determined with Him. Yet you are in doubt! 2 And He is Allah (the God) of the heavens and in the earth; He knows all, your secrets and your disclosures, and He knows your deeds. 3 (The unbelievers) have always turned away from the revelations and the evidence (of the Truth) that has been sent to them from time to time. 4 And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at. 5 Do they not consider how many a generation We have destroyed before them, whom We had established in the earth as We have not established you, and We sent the clouds pouring rain on them in abundance, and We made the rivers to flow beneath them, then We destroyed them on account of their faults and raised up after them another generation. 6 If We had sent unto thee a written (message) on parchment, so that they could touch it with their hands, the Unbelievers would have been sure to say: "This is nothing but obvious magic!" 7 And they say: "Why has not an angel been sent down to him?" Had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been judged at once, and no respite would be granted to them. 8 Had we appointed him (Our messenger) an angel, We assuredly had made him (as) a man (that he might speak to men); and (thus) obscured for them (the truth) they (now) obscure. 9 And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by that which they used to ridicule. 10
